Xochilt Meza

Xochilt Meza

Head Chef

My name is Xochilt, traditionally spelled Xochitl, an Aztec name that signifies warrior, beautiful flower, and love—values that resonate deeply with me. Born and raised in South Haven, I found my passion for cooking at home, learning from the incredible women in my family. I was promoted to Head Chef in July 2024 after previously working as a Sous Chef. My love for the craft took me through various local restaurants before leading me to Tampa, FL, where I discovered my appreciation for fine dining. After years of honing my skills, I returned home to put down roots, raise my son, and bring my culinary expertise to the South Haven community. As the Head Chef at South Haven Yacht Club, I strive to create dishes that are both refined and comforting, blending flavors and techniques inspired by my Mexican and Native American heritage. I also take inspiration from Florida’s rich cultural diversity, and its vibrant culinary melting pot. Cooking isn’t just my profession—it’s my creative outlet and a way to nurture others. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me singing along side my brother as he plays guitar, spending time with my family, or catching up on my favorite shows. My son is my greatest motivation, and every dish I create is driven by a deep love for family, tradition, and the joy of bringing people together through food.
